DICK RONTELTAP (independent artist, musician, music-therapist, interactive-media DJ,)  chose Art as his Emergency-flow way of expression in times of Covid regulations.  "Art is fluent, painting has aspects of making music, flow, emotional expression, or a wild colorful wipe which is comparable with a high-pitched saxophone burst/ scream".

The objects which he collected in this period from the streets of Rotterdam became his “street canvas”. Using a combination of different media and materials as little rusty screws, chicken-feathers, ceramic powder, he gave a new life to all these, rewriting time, giving driftwood or Teflon pan's a new function, old life with marks of the past; in spots, damage, decay, deterioration, impurities, imperfection it all shines through... "Isn't that human?"

"A reflection of my emotion, my state of mind and desires to be free, it all can be found in many of my under-layers "  His wandering in time, his fascination to elevate and revive old abandoned street treasures refers to our human behavior, trash and possession. Still in an easy playful way.

RONTELTAP’s art process, which mainly contains portraits, always starts with a conversation and an exploration, a meeting to reveal the story behind a person’s face and character.

NL versie
